House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis Missouri

Ministries in the Midwest is pleased to introduce another remarkable congregation of the House of Prayer Christian Church family.  The Bible says in Eccl 4:12, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”  As you follow these updates and posts, you will see that this is indeed the case. There are many locations but one mission, one vision, one passion for reaching as many people as possible, in as many places as possible, with the message that Jesus Christ loves and comes to save the souls of lost people everywhere. Our prayer is that this report of the House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis, Missouri, will stir the flame in your heart!

The Gateway to the West

The city of St. Louis was founded in 1764. It is on the Mississippi River’s west bank in an area that was once the center of Native American Mississippian culture. Due to the proximity of the river, which is one of the longest globally and serves as a vital link of transportation, communication, and commerce, the city is known as the “Gateway to the West.”  An internationally famous symbol was constructed at St. Louis’s founding, known as the Gateway Arch. Completed in 1965, it stands 630 feet tall. Each year, millions of visitors come from across the world to view this monument. The glistening steel arch memorializes the masses of immigrants who arrived on that shore, envisioning a new life, a new home, and new dreams.  Moreover, House of Prayer Christian Church St Louis, Missouri, acts as a spiritual arch or gateway for souls to enter into a new life through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis, Missouri, is ethnically diverse.

As in fitting for a city populated by all nationalities, the congregation of House of Prayer Christian Church St Louis, Missouri, is also very diverse. Here black, white, Islander, middle eastern, and Hispanic all join and worship together. St. Louis is home to the largest Bosnian community in the world outside of Bosnia, as well as many Vietnamese, Chinese, and Mexican residents. There are two locations of this family-oriented church here, and the parishioners and visitors at either location reflect the same diversity. No one is ever “encouraged” to attend one or the other due to skin color or neighborhood. Love and the body of Christ are colorblind, and every race, tribe, color, and creed will find themselves at home here.

New Beginnings

Just as millions of westward-bound settlers embarked on their journeys to new horizons a few hundred years ago from this region, so there are many more still residing here who are wondering what road to take. They walk the streets at night alone, looking to drugs, alcohol, parties, and gangs for some semblance of peace and “family.”  Generations of children have grown up and continue to roam. Others look to a career for purpose and a source of confidence. These lonely masses are looking for a new and brighter day. Some will even embark on their modern-day traveling, moving to another city for another job, another spouse.  But Sadly, the end of all this searching is the same: emptiness and no peace.  They find themselves stuck in the rat race and don’t know where else to turn. But, oh, the blessed day when one of the saints from House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis, Missouri, reaches out a hand and says, “can I tell you about Jesus?  Do you know he loves you? Do you know he died, so you don’t have to live like this?”

Personal Evangelism

All around the streets of St. Louis, Christian soldiers are showing this message of hope. The light of the world is being carried through neighborhoods and alleys, parks, and grocery stores. It is the belief of House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis, Missouri, that every believer who has been touched by this life-changing gospel message has a God-given charge to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”  As found in Mark 16:15 NIV.  Just like the woman at the well, we must run through the city, as found in John 4:29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”  Though not all will receive the invitation, some who answer, some who are tired of their miserable life of selfishness and darkness. Then, they will, in turn, spread their testimony to someone else until it becomes a chain reaching the whole world.

So, in conclusion, our hope here at the Ministries of the Midwest is that this article about House of Prayer Christian Church St. Louis, Missouri, will be an encouragement to you, not only to hear the good report of another church reaching out to hurting souls but also as a fire of enthusiasm for each one of our personal outreach ministries. There are millions of people on this planet, and time is short. Let us intercede for our brothers and sisters in their field of souls and hold our candles high in our own!
